Sparkling cast put in solid performance

Hello, Dolly!
Civic Hall Trowbridge
Until tomorrow

TROWBRIDGE Amateur Operatic Society have pulled it off again, providing a magical evening's entertainment.

Set in the late 19th century, Hello, Dolly! is a musical comedy following the exploits of matchmaking widow Dolly Levi. This leading role was played by Felicity Courage who sparkled on stage, with her lively personality, twinkling eyes and stunning costumes. She set a high standard which the rest of the cast lived up to - the cleverly designed sets may have been a bit wobbly - but the entire cast turned in solid performances.

Special mention should go to Clive James who played a very convincing miserable half millionnaire and Chris Underwood, in his first role with the society as Cornelius Hackle, who managed some very lively dance routines!

The highlight for me was the Hello, Dolly! number set in the Harmonia Gardens restaurant. This was visually stunning, with fabulous costumes and wonderful singing and dancing.

Congratulations must go to Ian Bennett, musical director and Diane Scott, choreographer, for a fabulous show, and to Phil Courage, director, for pulling it all together.

How lucky we are to have such a talented group in Trowbridge. Get a ticket and see this show if you can.
