DETERMINED Danny Greatwood took to the stage on Saturday despite being in pain from a back injury.
In true professional style Danny, the vice chairman of the Trowbridge Amateur Operatic Society, took to the Civic Hall stage to play his part of the King in the society's 'Showstoppers'.
"I put my back out moving equipment on stage early last weekend and have spent the last few days in bed," said Danny. "But I didn't want to miss my chance of a role as King in the numbers from The King and I".
And his determination won the praise of society chairman Mrs Joan Francis who joined him in the songs from the famous musical.
"He was determined to take part and he has done well," she said.
The society scored a first in presenting 47 numbers from famous musicals and 60 members took part in the performances Friday and Saturday evening with the hall packed to capacity.
