Trowbridge Amateur Operatic Society “TITANIC – The Musical”.

Please extend my sincere congratulations to the cast and production team on a splendid first night of the above production, which Denis and I thoroughly enjoyed. It is always interesting to see a different interpretation and yours lived up to all expectations and showed, as with the others I have seen, the utter dedication and commitment from everyone in this most emotional of subjects.

The orchestra gave full vent to the majestic score but they acted as under-scores for the magnificent choral singing from the company, which has to be among the finest I have heard and certainly worth of the NODA "Choral" cup you proudly displayed in the foyer. With so many solo lines, one must not single out anyone, as all were so proficient in their various roles. However, I have a natural fondness for the roles of Mr and Mrs Strauss, Alice and Edgar Beane, Kate McGowan and her friends and of course, the impressive trio of Captain, Thomas Andrews and nasty Bruce Ismay, played by your director. Well done everyone and also well done to the whole cast with their tremendous on-going support. Full compliments also go for the splendid multi-level set which worked so well and ensured continuous playing. Lighting and effects complemented as did the authentic early 19th Century costumes and props.

This was my first visit to your society but I really hope it will not be the last and that you all have a super week of playing this most wonderfully thought-provoking musical.

With kind regards and best wishes.

Yours sincerely,

Geraldine Branton,
NODA South West Councillor
