Back To The Theatre

Claire Borovac — Sun, 15 Aug 2021 18:55:30 +0000

We have now finalised the plans for our autumn concert “Back To The Theatre”, to be performed at the Arc Theatre on 25-27th November.

Our first rehearsal will be on Tuesday 31st August at 7.30pm at Trowbridge Town Hall (upstairs room), where we will be joined by Musical Director Nick Goodall. The concert will consist of a mix of shows currently in London both new and old, big company numbers, solos and small groups – there is a little flexibility in the song list depending on cast. Sheet music is available from the “Cast and Crew” section of our website – please contact us for the password.

Future Tuesday rehearsals will be at Trowbridge Town Hall 7.30pm, with Wednesdays the Oasis Longmeadow School, Broadcloth Ln, Trowbridge BA14 7HE for soloists etc.

For Covid reasons we will be spreading people out at rehearsals a little more than in the past, please sanitise your hands on entering the room. We would also appreciate it if you could bring your own refreshments, at least for the first few weeks whilst we get settled into the routine again. It is going to be a bit strange actually seeing people and singing together again!

We are really looking forward to seeing you again, and welcoming newcomers too.

November 2020 production

Claire Borovac — Sun, 02 Aug 2020 22:09:14 +0000

Given the current uncertainty over amateur theatre in the foreseeable future the committee has made the decision to postpone the November 2020 show “The Sound of Music” until November 2021. This is obviously very disappointing for everybody but we feel it is the most sensible plan at this time.

The plan at present is for “Shrek – The Musical” to be performed on 25-30th May 2021 and “The Sound of Music” on 23-27 November 2021. We will of course update on rehearsal dates nearer the time.

Shrek – May 2020

Claire Borovac — Wed, 25 Mar 2020 21:37:53 +0000

It is with deep sadness that we have had to cancel the May 2020 production of Shrek. We are still working on securing new dates for the performances. Those who have booked directly through TicketSource will be getting an email and refund. Thank you for your support, as soon as we have news on the revised dates we will open the bookings again and hope to see you there!

Join King Arthur as he travels with his hapless Knights of the Round Table on a divine mission to locate the elusive Holy Grail – with uproarious consequences.

Winner of the 2005 Tony Award for Best New Musical the hilarious Spamalot was written by Python legend Eric Idle, with a fantastic score co-written by John DuPrez including Always Bright Side of Life

Spamalot! First Rehearsal and Auditions

TAOS_admin — Sun, 16 Jul 2017 20:06:30 +0000

presents

Monty Python’s Spamalot gallops into the Arc Theatre (to the sound of banging coconut shells).

Spamalot is an uproariously witty spoof of King Arthur and his knights’ quest for the Holy Grail boasts a high-kicking knights’ chorus line, killer rabbits, and a knight who continues dueling even after losing his arms and legs. All the hilarities of Monty Python and the Holy Grail are even funnier set to the rollicking music of the Round Table Knights and the mysterious, definitively diva Lady of the Lake.

Rehearsals for this new production, directed by Phil Courage with Musical Direction by Helen Heaton will start on Tuesday 5^th and Wednesday 6^th September at the Arc Theatre, with auditions being held on Sunday 10^th from 2pm.

For more details please email us (contact details here) or contact us via social media, or just come along to the first rehearsal!
